Acknowledgement of Risks, Waiver And Release

Please Read. Your Agreement is Required to Register for Camping

Due to rapid spreading of the COVID – 19 virus and acknowledging my desire to bring no harm to others, I affirm to the best of my knowledge I am healthy without any symptoms of illness which might be transmitted to others. Should I or those with whom I am camping develop symptoms of illness, I agree to promptly leave Camp Avalon Spiritual Nature Retreat (hereafter “Camp Avalon”). While on the grounds of Camp Avalon I will observe the CDC and Arizona guidelines set forth in the Rules & Regulations. My initials show my agreement: (initials)

I understand staying overnight and participating in related retreat activities can be dangerous, especially for outdoor activities with uneven terrain, domestic or wild animals passing by, and within the vicinity of a flowing creek. Accident, injury or death could result from some activities. As material consideration to camp and/or use the facilities at Camp Avalon, I assume all risks and take full responsibility for personal injury or loss or damage to my personal property and for expenses arising from any cause related to camping or using the facilities at Camp Avalon, whether known or unknown, whether expected or unexpected, whether related to water, air, wind, fire, weather, heat, cold or other causes or other camp participants.

I agree to take full responsibility for my minor child(ren) and will indemnify and hold harmless Camp Avalon for any injury sustained by them while on the grounds or during any walks, water play, or physical activities in which the minor participates.

I waive, release and hold harmless Camp Avalon Spiritual Nature Retreat, its owners, officers and directors, employees/staff, agents, licensees and invitees, from and against any costs, fees, expenses, liabilities or claims, whether legal or medical, arising from any conduct or activity of Camp Avalon or its effects, including but not limited to injury, death, theft or other liability, regardless of any act or omission by Camp Avalon. I also waive the benefits of any state, federal or local laws which may allow protection against unknown or unanticipated claims, damages, liabilities or other actions, whether contractual, tortious or statutory in nature.

I have read the Camp Avalon Rules & Regulations and agree to abide by these rules for the duration of my stay. I understand my or my family’s failure to follow the rules can be grounds for being asked and required to leave Camp Avalon.

I HAVE READ THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS, WAIVER AND RELEASE TERMS WRITTEN ABOVE. I KNOWINGLY AGREE AND CONSENT TO THESE TERMS AND MY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT ELECTRONICALLY SIGNIFIES THAT AGREEMENT. I MAY SIGN A PAPER COPY INSTEAD, AND I WILL REQUEST ONE IF DESIRED.

RETREAT RULES & REGULATIONS

For Safety to limit the spread of COVID – 19, the following rules and policies are in place as mandated by the CDC and Arizona law

Be Aware of and follow recommendations on Camp Avalon posted signs concerning COVID -19.

  • Observe 6 foot physical distancing from others who are on retreat.
  • Wear protective masks when in contact with others who are on retreat.
  • Increase your hygiene and hand washing as necessary.

During High Fire Danger - PLEASE NO fires, flames, matches. (Evening campfire pits are provided and selected by the staff, ​ ​as well as designated cooking areas​.​)

Swimming is at your and your family’s own risk. Please watch your children and teens closely.

Participants are responsible for their own property.

Please remember no participant's activities may interfere with the activities of any other participant.

Porta-potties available for all needs. No septic or grey water disposal permitted on the grounds. Anyone found dumping will be charged a $100 fine and turned over to the proper authorities.

The following items are restricted/prohibited​ on the grounds: alcoholic beverages, tobacco smoking, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, guns, unauthorized weapons of​ any kind, fireworks, smoke/stink bombs, laser pointers, ​silly string or snap caps​.

Please sort trash according to the labeled containers. ​If ​you have any restricted items or trash in your vehicle please take it (for example, cigarette butts) with you when you leave.

Participants agree to stay within the designated retreat areas.

Participants agree to respect other participants and wildlife. Please observe that the birds begin singing at 6​:​30 a.m. and quiet down at 10:00 p.m.

All dogs must be kept on leash.​ ​Participants are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.

Parking rules: After unloading at the overnight retreat sites vehicles must be moved to the designated parking place as indicated​.
